Welcome to another night in Carol’s Corner. We’re in the middle of a hot streak here in Central NY. Actually the only one we’ve really had all summer. If you have air conditioning it’s a good time to be doing your indoor walks. My dress today is one I almost forgot I had. It’s a cute little number I got last year at one of the thrift stores. It’s just a simple little cotton one, perfect for this hot summer day. I love that I can wear my red shoes. I have to remember to look for some more red if I go shopping. It took me a lot of looking to find these shoes. I remember how excited I was when I FINALLY found them. And even better was the price I got them for. Calling this ensemble, “Strolling Through The Flowers.”
Wore a bracelet and earrings I made, but had to wear a different necklace because of the high neckline.
Like the FitBit combo. Should see a new manicure in my pics tomorrow. Getting mani and pedi both.
You can’t get better advice then that. I hear so many people letting age be a factor (they think,) keeping them from having an awesome exercise regimen. I am here to tell you, it just isn’t so. In fact it is essential to your health and wellness. I use this adage frequently, “Use It Or Lose It.” For instance, I have Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. If I do nothing I am worse. Moving is what keeps me going. Exercise helps keep many health issues under control. In the beginning you may need to modify things, but as time goes on you will find you become stronger and things begin to come more easily to you.
Here is what what I was able to accomplish today. My workouts were broken into two different sessions. My early morning session was the above; The 5 Miracle Miles Workout. The Miracle Miles System that I purchased recently is amazing. I highly reccomend it. This five mile workout works everything and has cardio, “HIIT” (High Intensity Interval Training,) strength training and stretching; all built into it and every other workout module in the set. It’s amazing.
My second session was this evening. I did the 4 Miracle Miles Workout and then the 10 Minute Mile from the Fast and Firm DVD. That was 10 miles for the day and was 2 hours and 25 minutes total in length of time. Since September first I have already done 61 miles of workouts. This from a 64 1/2 years young senior.
Those who know me, know that I am a competitive person, always have been. If someone tells me, “You can’t do that,” that pretty much insures I have to at least try. Maybe I won’t be able to but it won’t be for lack of trying. Don’t sell yourself short, because you think you’re too old to do something. I am amazed at what I have been able to accomplish since starting this journey. I am getting stronger and more fit than I ever thought possible and I love seeing how far I can push myself and how much I can do. I am in better shape physically now, I think, than at any other time in my life.
I love the message in this graphic. I personally can’t do weight lifting, but this embodies what I wish to impart to people. Don’t limit yourself from all the possibilities because you think you’re too old. Don’t give up on losing weight or becoming fit because of your age.
If you have been doing just that, then you are doing exactly what the above graphic says. YOU are the one putting limitations on YOU, all because you are letting your mind tell you, or because of your age that you can’t do or accomplish something. Start today by changing your mindset. You are done using age as an excuse. From now on, you are going to prove to yourself that you can accomplish anything that you set your mind to. You just have to believe in yourself. You will find that you feel liberated when you start believing that you are capable of things you never dreamed possible. Instead, you will want to prove that you can do things you never dreamed you could, and as you set about doing just that and succeeding, it will end up being a big confidence booster that will set you up for even greater successes in your journey. Count on it and start to live it.
Want to end with this. (Love it!) Stop worrying about your age or what other people think. Do things you never thought you could. Stop waiting around. Don’t let possibilities pass you by, because these words are so true,”Right now is the oldest you’ve ever been and the youngest you’ll ever be again.” Grab that brass ring and go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Till next time, God Bless!
