CAROL’S CORNER

Welcome to tonight’s edition of Carol’s Corner. Hope everyone is having or had a productive day. Today’s picture is of one of the tops I bought last week at The Thrifty Shopper for $3.49. Purple is my favorite color so really like this casual top. It’s paired with what I dub my skinniest skinny pants. I hadn’t worn them yet. They are very low riding so liked that this top looked good not tucked in. When I look at this pic it’s still hard to believe it’s really me. These are the things that keep me motivated and on course. Only weighed 128.4 on the scale today. Woo Hoo!!! I go back and forth 2-3 pounds. That is as far as I will let myself fluctuate. I know if I don’t keep a watchful eye, it could become more and I won’t allow that to happen. I have worked too hard. Been trying to figure out what I should discuss tonight . I think I would like to talk about how important it is during this upcoming holiday season , to work even harder to keep up with whatever exercise regimens any of you are partaking in, and also how to get back on track when you mess up with your eating . When we don’t keep up with our workouts, and at the same time get really sloppy with our eating habits, that is when a little trouble becomes a lot of trouble. Now we don’t expect to be perfect during this holiday season, nor should we, but we have to do our best to not go completely backwards. Holidays are always a challenge, but a holiday season that spans as long a time frame as this one, does present a bigger challenge than usual. It is easy when we mess up to just say ” what the heck , I blew it so what’s a little more gonna matter”? It is this mindset that gets us in trouble. When we mess up with eating , exercise becomes more important, not less. At times like these we might even want to increase our amount of exercise, not skip it like we might be thinking of doing. There is always a war going on inside our head, trying to lead us in the wrong direction. We need to decide what voices to listen to. Do we want to go backwards in our journey or do we want to continue to move forward and work to realize our goals? Each of you have to make a choice. If you make the wrong choice you will just make your life more difficult, and the bad decisions could likely send you further into a downward spiral. I hope none of you will let that happen. You don’t have to keep making bad choices. So you mess up. Life happens. We have weak moments. Don’t let your emotions rule your head. Stop and think what you’re doing. You don’t have to compound one mistake after another. Get your head on straight, and when you have done that, start the very next day with a clean slate. Make a new beginning. Do the best you can with your eating habits. Between now & New Years, commit to working harder on the workout front, to help offset any deficiency’s in your diet. Make the right decisions and you can get through this holiday season with minimal damage to your progress.

Now onto the video section I’ve been doing. Gonna run out pretty soon. lol!!! Ok the first one is 4 different fat burning workouts. This was produced in 2009. The first one is the Power Mile lasting 20 minutes, good when you don’t have a lot of time. You can use 1 lb. weights to increase calories burned and to keep muscles toned. The second is Walk Strong. This is a 33 minute workout. Using 1 lb. weights in between the brisk walk , you will have three-minute intervals of intense weight training that will sculpt & shape your arms, shoulders, triceps, and abs while burning fat. The third is Walk & Jog, also 33 minutes. This has two minute intervals of light jogging throughout the workout. You know how good those intervals are for you. The last one is Walk& Kick. This alternates between brisk walking with two-minute sessions of kicking , stretching, and boxing for a total body workout. The second DVD is Walk Your Way Thin; Belly, Buns, & Thighs SLIMDOWN. It is a 3 Mile Walk & Lower Body Slimming , Featuring the Fit Cuff Resistance Tubes at the end of your walk. This workout is a long one totaling 71 minutes. That’s it for this time. Now clear your mind , get your head in the right place , and continue the journey. See you next time.

  1. You are so right about getting in the right mind set!! I know I have been thinking about when we go to see family at Christmas. I can watch what I eat but I was thinking I will bring my tablet and watch the youtube videos to workout to. There might be a workout room that I can use the treadmill. I just don’t want to take a week off from working out.
