Well I usually do my blog in the wee hours of the morning, but last night I was falling asleep , sitting up with my I Pad on my lap board and holding my stylus in my hand. I kept thinking I’ll just close my eyes for a few minutes. Well that just didn’t work and I finally concluded that I had better wait and decided to just go to sleep. This edition will be done in the early evening hour. I’m sitting in a diner with my I Pad like you might find me many times , and decided to get today’s edition of Carol’s Corner out early. Those of you who know me , know my I Pad & I are attached at the hip. I rarely go anywhere without it. My mind has been working overtime trying to decide what I wanted to share with you today. So here goes. I’d like to talk a little about the image you project to people when you leave your humble abode and go out into the world. It should’t matter where your at in your journey, you should strive to be the best you can be both inside and out. We should be taking care of both. I know people say that inner beauty is more important and in some ways that’s true. But have you be ever thought what it says to people if you don’t care what the rest of you looks like? No matter how we like to believe it shouldn’t be or shouldn’t matter, people tend to judge you by your outward appearance . Sometimes when we are overweight we tend to get sloppy. We leave the house for instance in sweats because they’re more comfortable, wear loose baggy clothing thinking it hides our weight, don’t bother to make our hair look it’s best, or forgo putting on some make up . The list goes on and on. To the outside world this telegraph’s one thing. We just don’t care. Nothing might be farther from the truth but that’s just the way it is. I would like to challenge you all this week. Whenever you leave the house put on something nice, something you feel good in. Take some extra care with your hair. Try something new with your makeup. Spritz on some of your favorite perfume. Then go out and interact with people. I guarantee that you will feel different and people will see you differently. Your mood will be lifted and there will be a little more bounce in your step. People will want to be around you. You will begin to feel more confident , which in turn will make you more motivated. I want you all to try this and let me know what you experience and how this makes you feel. All feedback and ideas for Carol’s Corner are greatly appreciated. Today’s second pic is at my wonderful nail salon, Anne Phillips Nails & Spa. Anne was gracious enough to snap my picture there. It is an absolutely gorgeous place and they are just the nicest people.
Today’s edition really WAS a work of love. I hope that you will find what I have shared to be of value to you. Till next time. Have a blessed day . Stay motivated, stay strong. Remember God wants you to be the best you can be, that means both inside & out.
This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I have gotten to where I don’t even like to go out. When I do go out this week, I will try to look nice.

Sandy so glad to hear that. I had so many thoughts floating around in my head. I truly think this is important and hope I shared it in a way that is helpful. I felt this was my best blog so far. They all can’t be serious but really felt led to share this.

This is me, and something I want to improve on for myself. Going out in sweats, no make up, hair not done, no jewelry. I think it’s part not wanting to draw attention to myself and part waiting till I’m in shape. Great post Carol.

What your said is so true and a good reminder. We shouldn’t wait until we are at our goal weight to try and look our best. I know when I I take the few extra minutes to do my makeup and fix my hair, and our on an outfit I feel good in I do feel more confident and ready to face the works.

Hey Carol, what you are saying is so true. I’m on an anti depressant. Once I began feeling better, I did start perking up, exercising everyday. I’ve bought sooo many wigs that I enjoy wearing, I keep my nails done too. I’m friendlier at work, I’m more social. People have responded, we laugh, talk, etc. I feel good and look good too.

Your blog is definitely Spirit-filled. Just keep letting God lead you in your writing. It’s genuine ad sincere, and we know you’ve “been there” and understand us. Maybe a little better than we know ourselves since you were on the overweight road, but succeeded in getting off! I truly believe this post is spot-on about dressing nice, etc. I think people view us with more respect, too, when we look like we respect ourself personally. Thanks for sharing with us! I’d love to hear what a typical day looks like for you, especially what you eat. I struggle with that. Keep blogging… your SIS love it. xo

Thank you so much. I truly love that I am able to impact the lives of people who I haven’t even met face to face. This last post I felt really proud of. Somehow I felt people needed to hear this and thus far that has been born out from people’s comments. I’m glad I went with my gut on this. There have been comments from readers that have made me cry. Just knowing they are doing just what I intended them to do is so humbling and makes me very emotional.
