Welcome to another new edition of Carol's Corner. Any nice weather here is officially over today and we're now at the predicted low of 28°. Just a little side note before we move on. You have no idea how long it took me to figure out how to get a ° sign on the keyboard of my iPad. Well Google has the answer to most anything and it is simple beyond words but not something you would figure out unless you read how to do it. So people, whenever you run into something you can't find out how to do, Google has the answer 99% of the time. So back to my little corner of the blogosphere. This picture was taken at Perkins where I had dinner yesterday with a friend. I find most of my ensembles this past week have contained purple or royal blue as the main emphasis. And funny thing I have this top in both this blue and another with purple, go figure. I like it paired with this circle skirt and my awesome blue shoes. The winning name for this ensemble goes to Jo Ellen Jatczak with, “Wrapped For The Holidays.” Very clever Jo Ellen, cause I kinda do look wrapped up in this top don't I?
My jewelry is a combination of blue, white and black. Earrings are plain black and the rest are the combination of the three, as my clasp covers on my FitBit Band.
And then of course there's my black watch. Might have to find a few more watches to add to my collection soon and some have to have batteries replaced.
I'm willing to wager that most of us will look at this and say yeah, that's me!! We stress ourselves out and just expect the worst. I don't expect anyone to be “Miss Perfect,” do you? I'm sure not, but we don't need to expect the worst either. That just becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. You do need to decide just how you are going to approach getting through this holiday season and what your goals are. What you decide in that regard will have a bearing on how you proceed moving forward. Don't let others decide for you what your goals should be. You have to live with what you decide not someone else. You will know best what is best for you. When you make that decision you can then plan on the kind of things you need to keep in mind as the holidays progress. As I stated in my prior post, my goal is to maintain my weight and not go too much higher then I am presently, and to still fit in the bulk of my wardrobe. I think that is a reasonable goal for this long holiday season.
This goes hand in hand with what I have been saying. No one has to understand how you approach various aspects of your journey, and the holidays are a perfect example of this. One person might want to keep pushing and rack up the weight loss numbers, another like myself just wants to stay stable. There is no right way, only your way! You alone have to be comfortable with your decisions. So, whatever you decide just know it is right for you. That way you can't go wrong. You are in the driver's seat of your own journey. You will be successful on your own terms and on your own timeline. When you come to this realization you will find yourself less stressed and more at peace with yourself.
Whatever your approach to surviving this long continuous holiday season is, you can give yourself a better you. Be strong when you need to be, work hard at keeping your fitness level up and don't let anyone else define what success is for you. Now get out there and kick butt!! Till next time God Bless.
