Welcome to a new day here at Carol’s Corner. Today’s picture was taken last night at a local diner. The picture of me is going to have to take a back seat to the beauty of the Christmas decor here. The whole place is beautiful , lights every where. You should see the whole thing. I even like the white tree with all the blue decorations. Just looks so pretty . Christmas is my favorite time of year. I could never tire of looking at all the decorations. Love to take a ride and see how pretty it is this time of year. My indoor decorating is major and takes 2-3 days to complete. That is what is going to lead into today’s topic. When I start a project, I don’t like to stop till it’s done, hence what transpired this week. In the three days prior to this, I only slept a total of nine hours out of 72. I pushed myself to finish the decorating and cleaning in my house, along with working out every day. Had awesome step counts along the way. In doing so I got lots done, but that brings us to yesterday and the topic for this edition of Carol’s Corner. There comes a time when one must listen to their body and what it’s telling them. That day come for me yesterday. I fought it tooth & nail, but in the end , what my body was screaming at me , finally had to become the winner in the battle between what I wanted , and what my body ultimately needed. So here’s how it went down. Went to my vender booth at the mall yesterday. Walked around as much as I could. Part way through the afternoon , was sitting there and could’t stop myself from nodding off, which is something I rarely do, or even can do. This kept happening, and finally Maria, the vender next to me said , “you really need to go home and take a nap”, which was truer than you could possibly know. I hadn’t sold a thing anyway, so decided I couldn’t fight the exhaustion for another minute. Called hubby and he came and got me. Then went to the diner where today’s picture is taken from , to get something to eat before I went home. When I got home I laid down with the intention of getting up around 10 and doing my workout. I was less than 2000 steps from my step goal. Needless to say, I never made it. My body was finally saying enough is enough. I awoke at 1:47 and couldn’t figure what part of the day it was ( bedroom has light blocking shades). I had to look on my phone to figure it out. I had slept between 7-9 hours. I was disappointed that I slept through my workout time and had missed my step goal for the day😰. But the point of this entire story, is that there are times when you must absolutely listen to your body , even when you want it to do something else. Yesterday was that time for me. If your body is screaming sleep , that is what you should do. If you don’t feel well enough to exercise on a given day ,or you are in too much pain, listen to your body and take a rest day. When you are rested, or feel better, or when your pain has let up enough, your body will let you know when it’s ok to resume your regular activities . So today take a cue from what your body is telling you and act accordingly. It will thank you for it. So after I hit publish on today’s blog ( went to Denny’s to sit and work on it) , I’m going to go back home, do a workout, and then go back to bed and get some more much needed sleep. My plan is to do a second workout later in the wee hours of the morning like I usually do. So now enjoy a few more decorating pictures from my house.

This is a spot in my house everyone loves. It’s at the top of our stairs at the back , where I made a fancy little area where you can sit down and relax and do whatever you want.
