CAROL’S CORNER

Well I know it’s been awhile since I’ve had a new issue of Carol’s Corner. I haven’t forgotten you, I’ve just been busy on all fronts. I hope everyone is healthy and doing well.
So let’s start with the fashion portion like always. Just recently, I started experimenting with some cool photo apps, and this is my debut here on Carol’s Corner, of one of my efforts. It’s really a lot of fun trying to see what I can come up with. What’s neat is that I can put all of the different elements in one picture. This was the ensemble I wore dancing Saturday.  Everywhere I went wearing this , I got rave reviews from everyone. I got complements everywhere. This ensemble was definitely all about the bling. Kim Bernard aptly dubbed it,” The Rhinestone Cowgirl”. The blouse has bling all over it. And I thought it went really well with my go to circle skirt with the net tier on the bottom. I wear this skirt frequently. In fact I wore it with something else today. It is so versatile. My necklace,  bracelet and earrings definitely went with the Rhinstone Cowgirl theme that my ensemble suggested. And my FitBit Band, clasp covers, and watch, all tie in with the Black and White of the ensemble, along with my Black Onyx ring. Even my new manicure is replete with it’s own bling in the form of little white pearls. How much fun is that?  So let’s get started with what I’d like to talk about tonight.

Are you going through a hard time right now, a real rough patch and a big bump in the road of your weight loss or health and fitness journey? Are there days you just want to forget everything and give up?  We all have times like that in our journey. I personally am going through a long extended rough patch with my weight and eating. There are days I hate myself, but then I just have to remember we all go through problems on our journey and it’s ok if we’re not perfect. But the one thing we can’t do is give up. Maybe we can’t do what we need to do every single day, but we can some of the time! My weight is not where I’d like it to be presently, but I can’t beat myself up about it.  I still look pretty good and I am healthy and fit. I still walk or workout almost every single day when possible. So when I really decide to buckle down about my eating I know I will get back to where I want to be and where I am the most comfortable. I have decided for quite some time now, that it won’t be quite as far as I went previously. I think I didn’t look as healthy then. But I do want to get back to somewhere between 135-139. For now I am just trying to stay steady where I am . It fluctuates from day to day, but I know there is a point I won’t let myself go beyond. You need to make those decisions wherever you find yourself. You need to do what is best for you. Only you know what that is.

This is what you need to remember and keep in the back of your mind every day. As long as you don’t give up, as long as you keep on trying, as long as you keep on moving forward in some way, you will succeed in what you are trying to accomplish in your own journey.  What success looks like is up to you to decide, no one else.

So stop beating yourself up if you’re not in the best place right now, or if you’re not the perfect person you’d like to be. We never are. Just try to be better than you were yesterday or the day before. And you decide where you want to be and when. Maybe you need to go slow, make small changes a little at a time. There is nothing wrong with that. You need to do what is best for you.

This is so very important. Don’t let others tell you what your journey should look like or what they see as success. Your journey is yours and yours alone! You decide what success is to you.  And just know it doesn’t matter how many times you fall along the way, as long as you get back up and keep on trying.

I’d like to close with this. It really doesn’t need much explanation does it? It doesn’t matter what mistakes you’ve made, or how badly you think you’ve messed up. Today is a new day . So do exactly as this says. Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. And whatever you do, don’t ever give up. And as always, till next time, God Bless!
