  1. Hi Carol…I am following you, starting today. This morning I staring reading your posts and then did Leslie’s “Walk it off in 30 days” cardio part. I am 64′ so was encouraged to see someone my age be successful. I need to lose about 30 pounds. I am a retired postmaster and now have an antique shop at my home. I too, am from NY….Henderson…right near Southwick Beach State park. What town are you from? Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂

    1. Hi, glad to see you. I’m from Central New York, Cortland, which is about 45 minutes from Syracuse. Did you get to read some of my earlier posts? Just into my forth week blogging. It has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever been involved with.

  2. Yes, I have read most of your posts. Enjoyed them very much.
I am finding it very hard to lose weight the last few years and was even told by my Doctor that it is very hard at my age. Not very encouraging.
It sounds like you exercise late in the day or evening. I may try that. Sometimes it’s hard to find time in the morning. Time….that’s the hardest part for me when trying to stay with the exercise.

    1. I keep very strange hours. I usually go to bed between 3-5. Many times I’m working out at 2:30 -3:30 or a little later. Don’t give up. You can do it. Keep repeating in your mind your goals,I tell people when it moves from your head to your heart, miracles will begin to happen. You have to find out what works best for you and stay committed to follow it. I didn’t start my exercise till halfway through my weight loss. Now it is key for me to maintain where I am at. I ‘m here any time you need encouragement. Private message me when you need to.

  3. Thank you, Carol. Every little thing you tell me helps. Last summer I was determined to do “walk it off in 30 days”. I jumped in with both feet, so to speak…ha. Anyway, wore myself out and didn’t stick with it. This time I am starting a little slower and trying to be consistent. Also, I like a glass of wine in the evening….and am now giving that up, too. What is your opinion? Any alcohol at all? Thanks for being there.

  4. As far as the wine, you just have to count it in your food plan. They say these days that red wine is good for you. You don’t need to cut out everything just figure out how to fit it in . And the bible says take a little wine for your stomach’s sake. Just try to do whatever exercise you can each day even if it’s only a mile workout. Talk to you soon. Any special topic you would like me to discuss. Looking for suggestions every day.

  5. How about advice on eating out. We had a Christmas party tonight at a great Italian restaurant in Watertown. I had a bacon wrapped broiled scallop appetizer, which I shared with my significant other, broiled fish and salad. Also a glass of wine. Plenty to eat and I avoided pasta and bread. Only 3 days into this diet and exercise and already feel better.

    1. I will address that in the next couple of days. Pulling another all nighter tonight, so gotta put something together fast. At Denny’s getting ready to start it and having something to eat. Only ate once today. I’m in the middle of Christmas decorating and I am a huge Christmas decorator inside the house.
