Welcome to the Sunday night edition of Carol's Corner. Hope everyone had a productive and great weekend. Today I'm in my go to church outfit. I adore everything about this ensemble. I still can't believe it when I look at myself in the mirror. I'm just totally in love with this dress. Since it's sleeveless, thought it went perfectly with this sweater. In fact it looks like you could have bought it together. The necklace and earrings I had purchased from a vender who was selling her wares at an opera we were priveledged to attend . The name I chose for this is “Simple Elegance “. After I post the FitBit pics below, I'm going to repost my before picture for anyone who may not have seen it. I want you to know I have walked the walk to get to where you see me now.
I love this ring I got on sale . I made this bracelet and I love this FitBit band and coordinating BandCuff.
When I began my journey I topped out at 186 pounds, probably 10 pounds more than this picture. Now I weigh 130. I went from a 16-18 women's 2X to a size 8-10. When I began my journey into health and fitness it started for health reasons, but as things went along, it became about so much more. Somewhere along the line I decided I wanted to both LOOK AND FEEL GOOD. At 63 I had let myself go and thought it had to stay that way. I was SO WRONG. Once I began my journey, I started and never looked back. If you have the desire to change your life, I am living proof that you can do this at any age. Originally I had wanted to get back to my size 14's, but that also changed along the way. When I actually started changing my diet, the weight just melted off me. No one told me what to do. I just did it (totally on my own). At that point I decided to change my original goal of 143 and stopped when I reached 130. You will know when you reach what is best for you. You will see it and you will feel it. Trust yourself. I didn't start exercising till halfway through my weight loss, but now I tell people to start right away. Maybe you just start with 30 minutes a day, and work yourself up as you feel able. Exercise is a vital part of my continued success. I need it to help maintain my weight loss and keep my blood sugar and chloresterol levels where they need to be. I love myself for the first time in a good many years . You can too and you should want to. It makes all the difference in the world. So what has to happen for success to sprout? The idea has to germinate so to speak, in your mind. Tell yourself over and over what you are about to do. Make yourself a mantra , repeat it over in your mind daily, till you start to believe it. Success will not happen if you don't believe in yourself. The first step is to make that commitment and set out to make it happen. Whatever plan you decide to follow has to be what is best for you. The only given is you must consume less calories and be more active. The two together insure success. But there is something else that has to happen. You have to make what I call the mind/heart connection. When what you say in your mind finally makes that connection in your heart, this is where your true miracle sprouts wings. When your heart and mind come together as one, you are unstoppable. What you say in your mind and believe in your heart, that is what you will do. Are you ready to change your life? Today can be the day it truly changes. Let that mind/heart connection begin today. Recommit yourself to changing your life. Make today be the day the light bulb goes off in your mind and explodes in your heart. When that mind/heart connection takes off, nothing can stop you but yourself. Let your heart and mind together lead the way. When you do that true success begins. The rest is just stuff. Till next time, God Bless.
