CAROL’S CORNER

Here we are again. Another night here at Carol’s Corner. Getting a really late start this time, so we’ll see how it goes. Today’s pic is of me wearing a new blouse I got. The best part is the back, which you can’t see. Lol!! Love the soft colors that go so good with this pair of jeans. You can see the pretty color cami shaper peering out at my shoulder, which you can see in the back. Guess I should have taken a picture of the back view. Needless to say, it was interesting. Got to wear another Fitbit band that matches pretty darn good. Let’s see if we can come up with some more good stuff on snacking and some good links, for you to look at, at your leisure. Being able to provide links, sure will make it easier than trying to type all the information out. The first thing I’m going to do is provide a link to an article on 20 snacks that burn fat , from Health.Com. It will be easier for you to just go to it and read through it on your own. It would take too long to go through each one. http://www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,20682477_2,00.html. Let me know what you thought of it. Next up is another link from Health. Com, but I’ll explain it first and link you to the second page. It is entitled, “Eat more, Weigh less”. It says if you’re cutting out snacks to lose weight, STOP. You need to fuel your body between meals, and snacking is what provides that opportunity. Healthy snacks ensure you won’t be so hungry by mealtime, that you overeat, and it also keeps your fat-burning metabolism revved up. The following link provides 18 nutritionist approved choices, both store- bought and make-your-own snacks. Each one is 150-200 calories, is filled with good-for-you nutrients, and will make you feel anything but deprived. http://www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,20778689_2,00.html. This edition will definitely be filled with plenty of reading for you to do, but at the same time provides you with lots of information. This next section should be pretty interesting. This is from the Women’s Health Magazine and is entitled,” the 8 Best Bedtime Snacks For Weight Loss”. Subtitled ” Foods that help you sleep like a baby… without making you bloated in the am”. When snacking within an hour or two before bedtime, you need to take into consideration a couple of things. Research links late- night calories to weight gain. One study found that eating right before bedtime, made your sleep more restless , and set you up for fatigue and binging the next day. Also late night noshing, ( guess that’s a new word for snacking ), tends to be associated with stress eating, which in turn, leads to overindulging in high fat comfort calories. But trying to go to sleep when your stomach is making all kinds of growling sounds, isn’t the best idea either. Your quality of sleep will be worse, leading to more fatigue in the morning , and feeling famished, which in turn will lead you to overeat and mess up your food plan for the day, and you know how one bad thing usually leads to another, even when we don’t mean them to. What is the solution? Reach for one of these low-calorie sleep inducing snacks that won’t leave you feeling all bloated in the morning. I’m going to list them, and then provide the link to them. Then you can read about each one and why it is a good snack choice. You just hit the next page number underneath the snack each time. I’m sure you’re all smart enough to figure out how to navigate through it. So here are the 8 snacks. 1-String Cheese 2-A Bowl of Cereal 3-Nonfat Greek Yogurt 4- 2 Slices of White Meat Turkey 5-An Apple with a Spoonful of Peanut Butter 6- Non-Fat Chocolate Pudding Cup 7-Baby Carrots 8-A Banana. The first link is page 3 underneath it. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/healthy-bedtime-snacks. I’m going to provide some other links about good snacks for weight-loss. I’ll tell you what each one is and you can bookmark what appeals to you for later use.

  1. Good morning…
Love the bigger font!. So much easier for me to read first thing in the morning. Thank you.
I am loving my Fitbit. It is so revealing! Yesterday I made it to 5 miles!! I was so proud. It’s really a motivator. Just ordered a dark red band for mine….along with a couple more Leslie Sansone DVDs.
